This new pop-up café to promote the latest Sailor Moon movie, due to hit Japanese cinemas in January 2021, serves up themed food and merchandise. Head to Tokyo Solamachi from December 24 and Tokyo Shinjuku Lumine Est from January 8 for some highly Instagrammable meals starting at ¥899.
Be sure to book ahead online – it costs ¥715 per person (tax included), but you’ll get a free face mask case in one of six random designs. Also, don’t forget to order a drink (from ¥899), which comes with one of 11 different heart-shaped coasters. There’s even a themed Calpis drink on offer: the Eternal Memories Pink Calpis (¥1,699) comes in a special reusable flask for you to keep.
The big drawcard is the lineup of exclusive merch by LGBTQ+ designer Wataru Linda Igarashi. There are the usual keychains and badges, but also a stylish hoodie (¥5,800) and, from February 1, two porcelain tea sets (¥9,800 each) in different pastel colourways.
You can book online up to three days in advance and each booking can include up to four people.
