The Japanese edition of Italian publisher De Agostini, known for its ultra-detailed models of everything from Star Wars spaceships to Ferraris, started a unique experiment back in 2013: subscribers to the Weekly Robi magazine received a bundle of parts with every issue, and at the end of the 70-issue series they would have all the parts and know-how needed to build their very own robot – Robi, equipped with sophisticated movement and voice recognition abilities. This pop-up café celebrates the cute little fellow and the DIY culture that's sprung up around it with a menu designed specifically for the purpose, while visitors can of course also hang out and talk to a real Robi.
