This ramen shop is noticeable for its modern noren curtain at the entrance, featuring a caricature which the restaurant claims to be the face of Robert De Niro. While the restaurant isn’t run by the man himself, the owners certainly hope that the dishes are as memorable as the veteran actor’s film roles.
The Pa-Koh D dan dan noodles (from ¥1,380) is the ramen restaurant’s signature dish, with a bed of crunchy deep-fried noodles topped with a slab of deep-fried pork loin. The white sesame dan dan noodles (from ¥980) is also popular for its rich soy milk broth with a spicy kick. Both noodles are offered in three different spice levels.
For big eaters, the side menu has several dishes to fill up your stomach. The sumptuous lard rice (¥780) is piled high with a slab of roast pork belly and minced pork miso stew. Or you could order the deep-fried pork loin on its own, served as is (¥650) or with a chilli oil and gochujang sauce (¥850).
