Kansai’s famed yakitori restaurant Nonotori now has its first outlet in Tokyo, focusing on claypot rice and hand-picked jidori chicken from Kyoto. Omakase course meals start at a reasonable ¥5,390 and include chicken soup, chicken claypot rice, an array of chicken yakitori and dessert. For an additional ¥2,000, you can even add unlimited drink pairings.
For lunch, it offers even better deals. You can get a yakitori-don (yakitori over rice) for ¥950, or an oyakodon (chicken and egg over rice) for ¥1,280, both of which come with a small side dish and soup. If you’re lucky, you might be able to try its claypot rice meal (¥1,480), but it’s limited to just ten customers per day. It comes with two yakitori skewers, chicken wing karaage, a raw egg, chicken soup and of course, your own claypot rice.
