Time Out says

The waters of Tokyo Bay stretch out to the horizon some 200 metres below, as chefs prepare a wakon yosai (‘Western learning, Japanese spirit’) menu that transcends tradition in favour of a borderless approach to Japanese cuisine. This is the experience delivered by Mizuiro, a restaurant located on the 46th floor of the Caretta Shiodome tower.

Every seat in the house, from box seats for groups through to window seating, and including private dining rooms, offers stunning views through nine-metre-high windows that look out over the landmark Rainbow Bridge and to the sea and sky beyond. Surrounding diners, meanwhile, is an interior that mirrors the menu’s ‘East meets West’ approach.

Both prix fixe and à la carte menus are offered, with a nine-dish dinner (¥7,700) comprising tsukune (chicken meatballs) followed by three kinds of seasonal sashimi, charcoal-grilled fish, a meat-based main dish, and assorted other morsels. Lunchtime options, meanwhile, include a tuna and yamakake (grated yam) rice bowl (¥1.480), charcoal-grilled set meals (from ¥1,580), and a substantial multi-course lunch (¥3,500) that features two varieties of sashimi, seasonal appetisers, beef sukiyaki, a tuna seafood bowl and dessert.
