From the company behind popular Omotesando eateries The Great Burger and The Little Bakery comes this Chinese restaurant in Komaba. It’s easy to spot, with the words Lucky Alexander China written in big red letters across the simple white exterior of the building.
You’ll find plenty of classic Chinese dishes on the menu, including gyoza dumplings (from ¥660 for five) with three kinds of fillings – pork, ginger pork and lamb. Other traditional dishes include Sichuan mapo tofu (¥1,540), giant prawns with chilli sauce (¥2,035), fried rice (¥1,210) and lu rou fan (braised pork over rice; from ¥880). If you visit for lunch, you can get your choice of main dish and a side of pan fried gyoza and soup for ¥1,320 to ¥1,650.
While beer goes well with the meal, you can also pair your dish with natural wine (from ¥1,045 per glass or ¥4,950 per bottle) or a dragon highball (¥770), which is a mixture of shaoxing wine and with soda water.
There are also some refreshing desserts to finish your meal, including tapioca coconut milk (¥550), cold almond tofu (¥715) and mango pudding (¥770).
