With a name like 'The Prime Rib', there’s little question about what to expect on the menu at Lawry’s, an iconic steak establishment that first opened its doors in 1938 in Beverly Hills. Having returned to Akasaka in autumn 2017 after a three-year break – their previous outpost in the area closed down in spring 2014 – this shrine to top-grade rib brought the number of Lawry's in Tokyo back to two, complementing the restaurant inside Ebisu's Garden Place. As usual, the atmosphere is sophisticated and classic, recalling the old Hollywood hotel days with high-backed chairs, full silverware sets and servers impeccably dressed in crisp, retro uniforms.
