A little workshop and café in Kudanminami, Kohodo specialises in Asian ginger ale made with ginger from Tosa province, Taiwanese five-spice powder and beet sugar from Hokkaido. The craft beverage, with a well-balanced but distinctive spicy undertones, is vegan and gluten-free.
If you’re new to Kohodo, go for the sweetened ginger ale (¥700) which goes down smoothly like a juice. The dry version (¥700), on the other hand, has more of a punch that will satisfy ginger lovers.
Kohodo is planning to expand its menu in the near future with mocktails and cocktails featuring its housemade ginger syrup.
