Hailing from Iwate and famed for its focus on aged Kanzaki beef from the same prefecture, casual yakiniku chain Kakunoshin took to Tokyo's already blazing-hot burger battleground with this somewhat confusingly named eatery, the company's seventh in the capital, in February 2017. Sure, you will find their regular yakiniku options on the menu at lunchtime, as well as hamburg steaks and even a menchikatsu burger, but most patrons head here in search of the Nikutell burger (¥1,250), served with soup and fries. Sandwiched between the fluffy bun is a competently grilled, rather juicy patty, plus bacon, cheddar cheese, tomato and lettuce – keeping it simple, in other words – while the finishing touch is laid with a few drops of shio koji (salt and malted rice). Said burger can also be had in the evening, when the menu expands to include even more grilled flesh options and prices are raised to the effect that you'll be spending at least ¥3,500 per person.
