Opening July 7
This new Kyoto-style tea salon focuses on healthy and nutritious food, as well as drinks based on Japanese green tea. Choose from eight different types of obanzai (light, Kyoto-style marinated food items) and nutritious vegetables at the obanzai bar, or sample set meals complete with miso soup, side dishes and calorie-friendly rice. On the other hand, the à la carte menu offers modern-style mushizushi (steamed sushi), or kamadaki gohan (kettle-cooked rice dishes).
Iyemon Salon's beverage menu is centered around tea. Enjoy matcha, sencha or hojicha, plus green tea-based cocktails and vinegar drinks featuring herbs and fruit. There's even an on-site tea bar where you can compare different types of green tea side-by-side. If you drop by in the afternoon, make sure to sample some of the cafés vegan desserts, ranging from green tea parfaits and pancakes to tiramisu and kakigori (shaved ice).
