They claim that 99% of the customers at this old-school eatery order the tofu steak, served with bonito flakes on a sizzling hotplate. Try it once and you might understand why. Ichioku has been running since 1968, moving to its current location in 1972, and there's a certain throwback charm to its red formica tables and 'borderless' food menu (a primitive precursor to contemporary fusion cuisine, if you will).
