Stepping into Hakata Gekijou feels like being transported to Fukuoka’s Nakasu district, where dozens of food stalls are lined up along the street. The restaurant attempts to recreate Nakasu’s lively atmosphere with festival music playing in the background.
Its most popular dish is the iron pan gyoza, with the dumplings crafted daily in-house. A portion of six dumplings is ¥418, but you can also attempt to eat 100 gyozas within an hour. If you’re successful in the challenge, you get to eat free gyoza for an entire year. Plus, you won’t be charged for the 100 gyozas you’ve eaten that day.
