Seafood lovers will be delighted with the fresh oysters on offer at Grand Central Oyster Bar and Restaurant in Shinagawa. The interior looks just like the restaurant’s original location in New York’s Grand Central Station, with its vaulted ceiling that will make you feel like you’ve been transported to the Big Apple.
The menu offers 11 types of raw oysters caught in the United States and Japan – including in Hokkaido, Hiroshima and Nagasaki – that cost ¥520 to ¥620 a pop. There are also a range of cooked oysters including the classic Japanese kaki fry (deep fried oysters, ¥1,200) and baked oysters drizzled with a buttery anchovy sauce (¥1,500). Plus there are other seafood dishes like garlic shrimp (¥2,500) and steamed lobster (¥5,400).
Don’t forget to end your meal with an all-American dessert like the densely packed cinnamon apple pie (¥840) or the hot fudge sundae (¥840).
