Gorilla Coffee Ikebukuro (CLOSED)

Born in Brooklyn shortly after the turn of the millennium, these purveyors of 'mighty strong coffee' landed in Shibuya last year, and now expand their operation to Ikebukuro's stationside Esola building. The drip coffees, espressos and cold brews are all made with house roasts, including the much-vaunted Monkey Business and new offering Bukurorio, made exclusively for this branch. The funky, friendly vibe found at the original NYC location has been kept intact, and you'll find more straight-from-Gotham goodies on the food menu: we love the jar muffins and the PB Bite rice puffs, flavoured with chocolate mousse and peanut butter.
