Swanky Minami-Aoyama has been graced with yet another farm-to-table restaurant, which in this case takes the shape of a salad shop. Good Life Factory offers eight different 'signature' salads, as well as the option to create your own (from ¥980) by choosing a base (just leaves, a quinoa and greens mix, or 'enzyme brown rice'), adding some veggie toppings, a dressing and, if you so please, proteins such as marinated fresh salmon or roast pork with soy sauce. The prices match the slightly upscale postcode: with most of their signature salads hovering around the ¥1,500 mark, we'd argue that the quinoa- or brown rice-based versions are the more cost-efficient option (we particularly liked the Protein Max and Iron Girl). The greens-based version alone may not fill you up completely, even though the portion size is relatively generous for Tokyo salad standards. If you're splashing some cash for a healthy lunch anyway, consider also ordering the Beauty Mix juice – a very tasty green mix with a touch of kale that won't stick between your teeth.
