In celebration of Japan's new Reiwa era beginning this May, The Oak Door steakhouse at Grand Hyatt Tokyo is making a special burger for the occasion. Dubbed the Golden Giant Burger and the Golden 'R' Burger, these two beefy hamburgers are not your average fast-food treat.
The Golden Giant Burger (¥100,000) weighs in at a hefty 3kg, and is stuffed with a hearty 1kg beef patty that's topped with Wagyu beef slices, foie gras and freshly shaved black truffles. To top it off, the buns are even dusted with gold for that extra bling. The burger is ideal for six to eight diners, but there's a more manageable option available for solo diners. The Golden 'R' Burger (¥20,000) is a smaller verson of the Golden Giant Burger and it's enhanced with Madera Sauce and goat cheese to balance out the flavours.
Each Golden Giant Burger comes with triple-cooked giant fried potatoes and a magnum-sized bottle of either champagne, red or white wine. This completely indulgent and Instagrammable burger is the perfect way to ring in the new imperial era. Just make sure to book at least three days in advance for your treat.
