This cosy shop in Jingumae – the Tokyo branch of a popular London venue – serves up toasted sandwiches with a little slice of Scotland. Try the signature Macbeth toastie (¥1,080) with cheddar, caramelised onions, rocket and genuine haggis. Herbivores can sub in the shop’s very own veggie haggis instead. If you’re not tempted by lamb offal, there are plenty of other sandwich options both sweet and savoury – we can’t go past the cheese and bacon combo of the Hamish (¥840).
Besides those toasties, you’ll find breakfast options like Scottish porridge (¥750) and larger meals like burgers from ¥1,250. To drink, there’s Allpress espresso coffee starting at ¥400 along with tea, soft drinks and even craft beer and (alcoholic) British cider. We’re told a selection of cocktails, wine and Scotch whisky are on their way, too. And be sure to keep an eye out for the black Deeney’s caravan serving the shop’s burgers at the city’s markets.
