Restaurant industry impresarios Balnibarbi always seem to find a way to secure the best locations for their eateries: the latest link in a long chain of reasonably priced, casual and unsurprisingly decent café-style establishments, Cucina Caffè Oliva occupies an airy second-floor space inside one of the humongous new residential towers overlooking Shinjuku's Toyama Park. Bathing in natural light, the restaurant also boasts a nice terrace, making it an apt choice for a laidback Italian lunch or after-work drink on a sunny day. The menu lists pizzas, pastas and wine bar fare, with lunch sets starting at just under ¥1,000 and a five-course dinner at ¥3,500.
