This Yokohama café with its stained glass walls, tile murals and antique lamps may look like a retro kissaten, but it’s a co-working space for creatives, catering to designers, illustrators, programmers and writers.
Each seat is outfitted with a 27-inch monitor and USB-C charging cables, and you can borrow different types of keyboards, including English-language boards, and mice. The menu includes traditional kissa staples such as cream sodas (¥660), puddings (¥530) and a variety of hot and cold tea and coffee creations. Before heading over, join the ‘Kissa Slack’ channel, where you can check for vacancies, reserve equipment and meet other café users online.
No doubt to entice you to look away from your screen occasionally, the shop is filled with colourful stained glass and pixel art panels. Plus, there’s an eclectic collection of books to get your creative juices flowing.
