When you're looking for somewhere to rest your feet after a hard day's shopping in Shinjuku, this roomy basement café takes some beating. Run by the same company as Blue Note Tokyo, Brooklyn Parlor does a passable imitation of a New York hipster hangout, with open plan seating, brick walls and a large library of art books and magazines that customers can flick through as they munch burgers and pancakes. The beer on tap, naturally, is Brooklyn Lager.
