Afuri Azabu-Juban

If the Roppongi Crossing Gate outpost of Afuri is too crowded with club-goers and party animals, then take a 15 minute stroll to Afuri in Azabu-Juban. You can’t go wrong with the yuzu shio or yuzu shoyu ramen with the tanrei (simple) broth – it’s lighter than your usual ramen soup. All bowls are topped with chashu pork (which can be swapped for chicken at no extra cost), seaweed, menma bamboo, mizuna greens, half a soft-boiled egg and shredded yuzu for an extra hit of tart flavour. Those looking for something on the spicy side will enjoy the fiery yuzu ratan ramen and vegans will rejoice at the vegan ramen, one of the best in Tokyo.
