Tokyo is experiencing an unusually warm winter, but that hasn’t ruled out the possibility of snow just yet. While rain is forecast to hit Tokyo for most of Monday February 5 and Tuesday February 6, the chilly temperatures could very well bring snow by late afternoon Monday.
As reported by NHK News, Tokyo might experience heavy snowfall starting in the afternoon of Monday February 5. This could continue until Tuesday morning and affect the Kanto-Koshin region, which includes all of Tokyo's 23 wards. The impending snow is caused by a low-pressure system moving along the southern coast of Honshu.
While it’s exciting to see a bit of snow in Tokyo, don’t expect too much, though. As always, it most likely won’t stay on the ground for too long. However, you should still plan your travels accordingly, as traffic could be affected by the snowfall.
