Face coverings are not new. In fact, they were worn by a certain group of samurai from the Sengoku period (1467-1568), long before the troubles of the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic. The ancient face coverings, however, were a lot sturdier and heavier than the paper and fabric face masks we wear today, because their sole purpose was to protect against sharp and dangerous weapons during battles.
With this nugget of Japanese history as inspiration, UM Succeed has created an eye-catching plastic face mask folder that looks like the face armours of the past. Available in three moustachioed designs, the plastic folder is shaped like an envelope to securely hold your face mask when you are not wearing it. It’s especially useful when you’re eating out at a restaurant and have to temporarily remove your face mask. You can now keep it protected and not place it on the table where it can get contaminated.
Moreover, these samurai face mask folders are coated with an antibacterial varnish for added protection. And when you get bored of your plain white face mask, you can even use the plastic folder as a fun face shield: just wear your mask while keeping it inside the samurai holder.
These mask folders are now available online at ¥440 each.
