Japan’s countless gachapon capsule toy machines are the perfect way to use up all that spare change. The capsule machines here are not just for kids – you can find all sorts of collectibles and even useful items like face masks in them. The latest – and possibly greatest – object to grace the country’s gachapon machines is this new squeeze toy shaped like everyone's favourite poop emoji, courtesy of Tokyo’s Unko Museum.

Now available via capsule toy machines across Japan, this peculiar squeeze toy doubles as a stress ball – the ideal antidote for the mayhem that keeps coming our way this year. Called the ‘Bikkuri Big! Unko Squeeze’ – aka the ‘shockingly big poop squeeze’ – the toy is designed to look like the museum’s signature kawaii poop swirls, which are reminiscent of the smiling poo emoji. The toy costs just ¥500, and there are four designs to collect, including an appropriately garish golden turd.

The Tokyo Unko Museum has recently reopened, albeit with reduced hours due to Covid-19 coronavirus. But if you can’t make it to the museum, these capsule toys are the next best thing, along with the museum’s suite of free online unko-related activities.
