Since Tokyo governor Yuriko Koike urged us all to refrain from unnecessary outings, Tokyo has become a ghost town – right in the middle of sakura season. With the temporary closure of venues and the cancellation of events due to the Covid-19 coronavirus, people have taken precautions and stayed inside. As the city prepares for PM Abe to declare a state of emergency, streets, buses and subway trains are just about empty.
