Makeup isn’t just for women – nor is virtual makeup, apparently. To help men everywhere look sharper and more put together for their video meetings, Shiseido has added two new filters to the TeleBeauty range on the Snap Camera app. The desktop app, designed by the same company behind Snapchat, lets you use filters with your PC or Mac camera to enhance or alter your appearance.
Snap Camera’s TeleBeauty filters can be used with video conference platforms such as Zoom, Skype and Microsoft Teams, and they mimic the effects of having a full face of makeup without the user actually wearing any. When it comes to Shiseido’s filters, the AR effects are based on real Shiseido products that people could test out virtually before deciding if they want to buy them. Products featured in the Shiseido Men filters include lip balm, eyebrow pencil, concealer and BB cream.
The effects are subtle enough in a way that other people in the video call wouldn’t be able to tell that a filter is being used at all. Instead, the user’s complexion simply appears even and more radiant with fewer blemishes – we know it works because we’ve tried it. The filters can even give you the appearance of a clean shave if you’ve got a five o’clock shadow.
To use the filters, simply download the Snap Camera app onto your computer and search for the Shiseido Men filters. The two filters are also available on the Snapchat phone app.
