After five years of construction, the colossal Shibuya Scramble Square will finally open on November 1 2019. At 230 metres, it will be the tallest structure in Shibuya, with 45 floors of shops, restaurants, offices and event spaces.

Crowning the top of the building is an outdoor observation deck on the 46th floor, where you’ll have a bird’s-eye view of the iconic Shibuya Scramble below. While there’s a steep ¥2,000 admission fee, this is the largest rooftop space in Japan and 360-degree panoramic views are hard to come by in the city centre. In fact, you might even be able to see Tokyo Tower as well as Mt. Fuji in the distance (on a clear day).

To prevent the top floor from being as frenzied as the Scramble itself, there are a limited amount of tickets available per day. You could be one of the first to observe Shibuya from its highest point if you book in advance. Ticket reservations will open from September 1 through Shibuya Scramble Square’s website.
