Step aside Burger King and McDonald’s – this is the burger we want right now. With the opening of a new Tokyo store inside Japan’s oldest amusement park Asakusa Hanayashiki, the country’s first ever burger chain DomDom is now offering a massive crab burger to celebrate the occasion.
While the cheapest burger on DomDom’s menu starts at ¥173, the Whole Crab Burger will set you back a whopping ¥900 (¥917 for takeout), without any fries or drink. Despite the high price, this new creation, which features a whole deep-fried soft-shell crab topped with sweet chili sauce, sold out quickly in just a matter of days since its release on September 19.
Don’t worry. Due to high demand, DomDom has announced that a second batch of its Whole Crab Burger will go on sale at all stores across Japan from Saturday September 26. You’ll have to be quick though, as there are limited servings per day. Don’t forget to snap a photo of this unique burger before you bite into it; the fried crab will be holding a little flag in one of its claws – eek!
