[June 3 2020] Wildly popular California smoothie chain Jamba – previously known as Jamba Juice – seems to have picked the right time for its grand opening in Japan. With Tokyo’s reopening plan now in stage two, and hotter summer weather on the way, Tokyoites will be keen to treat themselves to one of Jamba’s signature juices or smoothies. Jamba’s first outlet in Japan will open in Shibuya’s shiny new shopping facility, Miyashita Park, on June 18. It’s a prime location, just a few minutes’ walk away from Shibuya Station.
The Jamba menu is packed with smoothies and juices made using fresh fruit and veggies with no artificial flavours or sweeteners. All its crowd favourites will be available, including the Strawberries Wild (a blend of strawberry and vanilla yogurt) and Apple ‘n’ Greens (mango, banana and peach with apple and strawberry juice). There’s even a lineup of dairy and plant-based protein smoothies for your post-workout fuel. A drink will cost around ¥500 to ¥670, depending on the size and just how complex you like your smoothies to be.
Japan's first city-centre Ikea is also opening in Tokyo this month – and it's in Harajuku.
