Fine dining in the comfort of your home is now possible with Food-e. This new gourmet restaurant delivery service collaborates with some of Tokyo’s most popular restaurants, including Nobu Tokyo, Elio Locanda Italiana, The Tavern - Grill & Lounge, Diya, Sukiyaki Juniten as well as Grand Hyatt Tokyo's in-house eateries The Oak Door, Shunbou and Chinaroom.
This is not your ordinary food delivery. With Food-e, presentation is still key, so you can expect proper packaging, with hot and cold items being separated from each other. Plus, delivery is not limited to your house; you can also get a fancy meal sent to your office, a park or anywhere you choose, as long as it’s in Tokyo’s Minato, Shibuya, Meguro, Shinagawa, Chuo or Shinjuku wards.
To order, go to Food-e’s website, type in your address and see which restaurants are available in your delivery area. Based on the location, you can choose from a variety of options and they are not limited to just Japanese food; there are steak and seafood options, Indian and Chinese specialities, sushi, burger, sukiyaki and more.
The minimum order is ¥3,000, or ¥5,000 between 5pm-10am. There’s also an additional 10 percent service charge and a ¥1,000 delivery fee. Plus, an extra fee will be added when ordering for four to six people at once.
New restaurants will be added regularly, and Food-e is looking to expand to other parts of Tokyo and eventually to other major cities in Japan in the near future.
