It’s been six years since Burger King Japan has offered an all-you-can-eat deal but now the burger chain is back with a challenge worthy of the nation’s competitive eating champions. For a set price of ¥1,900, you’ll get a medium-sized drink of your choice (with free refills), medium fries and as many burgers as you can eat within 45 minutes. The burger in question is the ‘Maximum Super One Pound Beef Burger’, which was briefly on Burger King Japan's menu for six days in July.
The monstrous burger is made up of four fire-grilled patties along with all the classic toppings including cheese, lettuce, tomato and onion. Just one of these burgers weighs 499 grams and totals to a whopping 2046 calories. Think you can handle more than one? Good luck: you have to finish the whole thing before you request another one and the last order must be placed within 30 minutes of starting the challenge.
This is a limited time offer that will only last until September 22 at Burger King’s Ochanomizu Saint Clair location (it's right beside Ochanomizu Station). So if you’re game, make sure you get there before the end of the long holiday weekend. The challenge is available seven times a day – 2pm, 3pm, 4pm, 5pm, 6pm and 7pm – with a limit of ten people per slot. The store will be selling tickets to participate in the event, which must be purchased in person.
