With the current state of emergency, Tokyo has urged restaurants and bars to stop operating past 8pm to curb the spread of Covid-19. And as people are spending considerable time indoors, more and more restaurants now offer takeout and delivery – one of them being Pizza Studio Tamaki. This superb restaurant not only serves one of the best pizzas in Tokyo, it’s also gotten a Bib Gourmand nod from the Michelin Guide.
Pizza Studio Tamaki, or PST as locals call it, serves up thin-crust Naples-style pizza at its two outlets in Roppongi and Higashi-Azabu. Otherwise, you can also enjoy its wood-fired pizza at home via delivery. Most of PST’s crowd-favourite pizzas such as the margherita, herb sausage, five cheeses and the signature Tamaki pizza, as well as desserts like tiramisu and passion fruit cheesecake, are available in frozen form for online orders since last year. However, it’ll take about one to two weeks to be delivered.
Fret no, though. Starting this week, those who live within a 2km radius of PST Roppongi can order frozen pizzas via the Picks delivery app and have them delivered within the hour. You can order a single pizza, but the set of three (¥3,850) and five (¥6,550) do come at a discount. If this goes well, PST plans to expand its delivering radius in the near future.
