Ikebukuro Nishi-guchi Park’s recently opened Global Ring Theatre had been hosting live classical performances on a regular basis every Wednesday, but, due to the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic, the Tokyo Music Evening series has moved online for the time being. Live performances will be filmed at Toshima Kumin Center, which you can watch from the comfort of your own home.
The third performance at Tokyo Music Evening Yube will feature singer Ken Katayama performing ‘Adesso: Cheer up with the Power of Music.’ Adesso vocal group from Spain which includes Katayama and two other vocalists, but due to international travel restrictions, Katayama will be singing solo, accompanied by pianist Takashi Koizumi, bassist Katsumi Hiraishi, drummer Hiroshi Adachi and Ikue Takino on the synthesiser.
The program will feature classics such as ‘Ave Maria’, ‘You Raise Me Up’, and ‘O Sole Mio’ along with original music by Adesso, which was inspired by the athletes competing in the upcoming Olympic and Paralympic Games.
