The indoor Shibuya circuit festival is back for its 14th year. The concept behind the event is 'creation for the future', and with that in mind all of the participating clubs and live houses will be putting on the shows using 100 percent green energy. This will be an interesting first attempt for some of the big-name clubs joining the circuit this year. Participating venues include all of the Shibuya-based Tsutaya clubs (Tsutaya O-East, O-West, O-Crest & O-Nest) plus clubasia, duo Music Exchange, Vuenos, glad and Loft9.
The acts on the docket span a range of genres: four-piece prog-rock band Zazen Boys, hard rock band Eastern Youth, dancing funk master Zainichi Funk, electro-rock act Gateballers and about 50 more – check the website for the full list and timetable.
Tourists to Japan can reserve their tickets via an English reservation form – no payment required; just give them your e-mail, bring your passport to the show, and pay the ticket fee in person. If you can navigate the Japanese, you can purchase tickets online via e-plus. It's possible to buy tickets on the day at the door, provided they're not all sold out. If the past years are of any indication, there's a very good chance the advanced tickets will all be snatched up.
