For the second year in a row, the Music and City Festival is coming to Womb in Shibuya before heading over to Seoul a month later. The concept behind the show is showing support and empathy for young people trying to forge their own path in life. The show's tagline is 'Not Better, Be Different.'
In a country where it's still the norm to be recruited into a company out of university and settle into that company for years to come, it can be hard (even harder than usual) to do something as unorthodox as trying to become a musician for a living. To support those young mavericks, this festival features individualistic-minded artists who have managed to do just that, showing young fans examples of what's possible, even if it's unconventional.
On the docket this year are the Japanese rock bands DATS and Newspeak, the Korean electronic band Idiotape and the Korean funk band Sultan of the Disco.
