Tokyo FM has been holding a concert in tandem with Earth Day since 1990, but the events of March 11 last year led organisers to rethink the format. Rechristened as 'Earth x Heart Live', the concert will be drumming up cash to support WWF Japan's environmental work, and it's extending the fundraising drive well beyond the confines of Saitama Super Arena: thanks to the participation of the Japan FM Network, 38 radio stations around the country will also be joining in. Better yet, they've actually got some good bands playing too, in the form of dubby alt. rockers Fishmans and Sapporo-based quintet Sakanaction, whose electronica-tinged indie marks them out as the heirs of Supercar.
