Thermae-Yu has already made a name for itself in Shinjuku, where its Kabukicho spa complex is a welcome retreat in the buzzing entertainment district. Now, there's a second Thermae-Yu to enjoy in Nishi-Azabu, just a few minutes walk from Roppongi Station.
This Egypt-themed sauna and spa has three types of baths in the women's section: an artificial hot spring, carbonic acid bath and jacuzzi. The men's section, meanwhile, has an ice cold water bath and deep water bath instead of the jacuzzi. While relaxing in the water, you can adrmire the white marbled stone walls that are decorated with ancient Egyptian drawings and hieroglyphs.
After you’ve soaked in the bath, break a sweat in the Finnish-style dry sauna or steam sauna. There’s even a bedrock bath where you can lay down and relax on medicinal stones to detoxify and improve your metabolism.
The facility has a restaurant, café, relaxation room with reclining sofas and fitness centre, too. You can even spend the night in one of Thermae-Yu's guest rooms, with a one-night stay starting from around ¥9,000.
There's also good news for those with tattoos – you can freely use the facility without having to cover up your ink. Only those with tattoos that exceed 30cm x 30cm will have to use a tattoo cover sticker.
Thermae-Yu Nishiazabu is open from 11am to 10am daily, making it a great place to relax after a long night out in Roppongi.
