Titanic 25th Anniversary

Time Out says

It's been 25 years since James Cameron released his 1997 romantic epic set on board the ill-fated Titanic and, naturally, this calls for a re-release on the big screens.

This isn't the original version making its rounds in cinemas now, mind you. To celebrate its quarter-century anniversary, the three-hour-long Oscar winner has been remastered to a 3D format in 4K resolution (the next 'Avatar' instalment has to be funded one way or another!).

The special screenings will run through February 23, so you could potentially spend Valentine's Day weeping over Kate and Leo – erm, Jack and Rose – at your nearest Imax-supporting cinema. Just try to recall the number of tissue boxes you needed the first time you saw the film and multiply that by three.

See the event's website for the full list of participating venues in Japan.
