Start the year with a positive attitude at Yokohama's Brillia, which is again putting on this annual programme of short films with light-hearted messages. This year's edition consists of four flicks, all clocking in at less than 20 minutes each: Brett Hoxie's Mr Polman Wants To Fit In (2013), How to Change the World (2012) by Yili Li, Balázs Simonyi's cycling piece Tour (2009) and 2037 (2015) by Spanish director Enric Pardo. Entrance is free on New Year's Day, when all visitors will also be treated to a cup of amazake. For the full monty, opt for the 5.30pm screening, when the short movies will be combined with a rakugo performance.
