Gakuryu Ishii Retrospective

A fixture on the National Film Centre's calendar, these retrospective events see film directors pick their favourite movies – from the ones they created themselves, that is. This time round, it's Gakuryu Ishii (formerly known as Soto Ishii)'s turn. Known for Crazy Thunder Road (1980) and That's It (2015), the prolific director is primarily associated with the Japanese New Wave stream of the 1970s and '80s. During the programme, a total of 12 films will be screened.
