Seven years after starting life at Crane's Hollywood Tavern in LA, the mother of all backyard parties finally arrived in Tokyo in 2011. Since then, The Do-Over has kicked off summer in Tokyo with a bang. The organisers never reveal the lineup in advance, thus maintaining the element of surprise all the way to the end. Nevertheless, expect a tight group of top-grade local and international DJs who will be playing everything from hip-hop, funk, reggae, disco to house music.
This year, The Do-Over has partnered up with American skateboard and lifestyle brand Huf to offer exclusive merchandise like T-shirts, tote bags and koozies on site. There will also be plenty of stalls offering food and drinks during the festival from 12noon to 7pm.
You need to RSVP in advance via the website to attend and the admission fee is ¥3,000 (free for children under six years old), which must be paid in cash at the entrance.
