Beer halls were never this civilised. The Roppongi branch of Franziskaner is housed in classier surroundings than its sister shops, and comes with a patio that's pretty tempting when the weather's good. There are over 15 varieties of German beer on tap, and it's one of the only places in town that serves suds by the litre (albeit at prices starting from ¥2,300). The food menu also goes a long way to disabuse people of the notion that German grub is pure stodge, though most diners still seem to opt for the eisbein.
