If the claim that a bartender's personality is reflected in his cocktails holds true, Masayuki Kodato must be a straightforward, slightly bitter but always comforting man – as those three characteristics are what best describe his Campari and soda, the signature drink at Kodato's Bar Shake in Ginza. First opened in 2007 and relocated to its current spot in 2015, his upscale boozer isn't all about the liquid mixtures: the menu also includes tasty snacks from olive appetisers all the way to pasta and chicken rice. It's one of those places that'll both save you from the summer heat and provide warm comfort in winter.
