Take a day trip out to Akebonoyama Agricultural Park in Chiba prefecture to see a vast field of around 16,000 tulips this spring. Right next to the tulip field is a windmill, perfect for some Netherlands-inspired photo ops. You’ll see flowers in a variety of colours such as pink, red, yellow, white and purple until early May. There’s also a designated photospot with a gigantic picture frame, which will make for some great Instagram pics.
If you’re here on April 15, 16, 22, 23 or May 5 to 7, head to the park’s Furusato Hiroba for food stalls, a flea market and shopping booths from 9.30am to 3pm.
