Secret Witches Exhibition

Wielders of black magic and harbingers of tragedy – back in medieval times, 'witches' were deemed a menace to society and often faced brutal persecution. This interesting display, which toured Japan over the past year and now heads to Tokyo, sheds light on the phenomenon through around 100 artefacts and pieces of art themed on witches and sorcery. Assembled from museums across Europe, the exhibits speak to how witch-related superstitions came into being, and include tools used in actual witch trials.
