Time Out says

De- and reconstruction of the act of drawing is a key concern for Kazuma Horie, a Kanagawa-based artist whose works make up the twelfth exhibition in the Zou-no-hana Terrace’s Gallery Series, an initiative that kicked off in 2020 with the hope of bringing more art into the daily lives of Yokohamans.

The around 50 works on display are arranged to evoke a miniature garden. Visitors can stroll around the space, touching and even altering some of the pieces; Horie will be monitoring changes made to the artworks during the exhibition period and addressing them with ‘edits’ of his own, thereby engaging in indirect conversation with attendees. The artist and some of his colleagues will also organise occasional workshops and markets at the venue during the exhibition.

On July 5 and 6, Zou-no-hana will hold a special evening event in conjunction with the Tokyo Gendai art fair and will stay open until 10pm. The Snack Zou-no-hana event will also take place on July 6 and will feature live DJs and other entertainment.

On July 13 and 14, wood carving artist Momoko Kimura and contemporary artist Mayu Kuroiwa will be exhibiting works at Zou-no-hana Park from 10am to 5pm at the Mobile Museum Art Truck. A special Art Marche is also scheduled over these dates and will feature various workshops from 11am to 4pm.

Lastly, on July 15, the Really Really FreeMarket will take place at Zou-no-hana Terrace from 11am-4pm. At the market, vendors will prepare a variety of goods, skills and information which can be exchanged for something other than money.
