Time Out says

Born in 1990, Hiroto Ikeuchi has gained an impressive amount of attention since graduating from Tama Art University. The Tokyo-based artist recently shot to international acclaim when he was asked to work with Balenciaga for the brand’s Spring 2022 campaign. Following that, he is currently hosting his biggest solo exhibition yet at gallery Sai in Miyashita Park

Enraptured by robots and machines featured in anime from his childhood like ‘Gundam’, Ikeuchi primarily creates his art by taking apart plastic models and industrial machines and reconfiguring them into curious gadgets, mecha suits and cyberpunk headgear.

This exhibition features some of the artist’s latest futuristic contraptions, including powered exoskeletons built with the help of Skeletonics. There’s also an interactive installation made in collaboration with Prototype Inc.
