Japanese painter Hajime Okamoto is holding an exhibition at Odakyu Department Store in Shinjuku, featuring 120 works – all of them cats. The Osaka native has been creating pop art using suiboku (ink wash) techniques, and is known for his fictional feline character Kabamaru. You’ll get to see portraits of cats of all different colours, including white, black, ginger and brown, as well as illustrations of Kabamaru and his friends. If anything takes your fancy, most paintings are available to purchase for around ¥20,000 per piece.
The exhibit is entirely free, but it’ll only be here for six days from March 30 to April 4.
