A photographic look at three of Japan's largest doyagai or day-labour districts – Tokyo's Sanya, Kamagasaki in Osaka and Kotobukicho in Yokohama – this exhibition explores the hardship-filled lives of slum residents through shots by luminaries including Seiryu Inoue, Issei Suda, Haruto Hoshi, Seung-woo Yang and Shoko Hashimoto. These photographers all spent extended periods of time living with their subjects, documenting the (mostly) men who built Japan during the postwar decades of rapid economic growth but remained on the outskirts of society throughout that era. First held in July, 'Doyagai' now returns for a month-long encore at Roppongi's Zen Foto Gallery.
