As part of its Skill Academy initiative, the Hermès Foundation is launching a book this summer titled ‘Savoir & Faire Tsuchi’. Adapted from the 2016 French novel ‘Savoir & Faire La Terre’, this new publication features translated essays selected from the original novel as well as new pieces from Japanese authors.
Through seven featured artists, this exhibition will explore the bond between clay and the human form, emphasising the transformative properties of enamel in ceramics. Highlights include Masaomi Yasunaga's ash and bone-themed sculptures, Sylvie Auvrey's symbolic brooms representing daily life, and Yusuké Y. Offhause's architectural models constructed from memory. In addition, keep an eye out for Jean Girel's timeless landscapes and Francois Pétrovitch's glossy animal sculptures.
